The Providence of St. Polycarp traces its roots to the year 2010, when Bishop Robert E.
Wilson was consecrated into apostolic succession, marking the formal organization of the
Diocese of St. Polycarp. This moment established a sacred foundation grounded in historic episcopal order, spiritual authority, and a commitment to the continuity of the apostolic faith once delivered to the saints.

In 2012, following faithful leadership and continued growth, Bishop Wilson was elevated to the office of Archbishop. With this elevation, the Diocese of St. Polycarp was established as the Archdiocese of St. Polycarp, reflecting both its expanding influence and its increasing responsibility in guiding clergy and congregations in sound doctrine and holy living.

In 2024–2025, this ongoing development reached another significant milestone as the Archdiocese of St. Polycarp was formally recognized and restructured as the Providence of St. Polycarp. This transition represents not only organizational maturity but also a broadened vision for spiritual oversight, leadership development, and ministry expansion across a wider body of believers and leaders.

Named in honor of Polycarp, a faithful early church bishop and martyr known for his unwavering commitment to Christ, the Providence embodies a legacy of steadfast faith, doctrinal integrity, and pastoral care. It stands as a continuation of that same spirit of courage, truth, and devotion in a modern context.

The Providence of St. Polycarp is established with a clear and divine purpose: to educate ministers, strengthen the Church, and equip believers for effective service in the Kingdom of God. Its mission is carried out through teaching, preaching, consecrating, leading, counseling, and mentoring those called into ministry. It serves as a spiritual covering and a source of guidance for bishops, clergy, deacons, ministers, and laypersons alike.

Under the leadership of Archbishop Robert E. Wilson, Jr., PhD, the Providence functions as both a governing and nurturing body, designed to cultivate spiritual growth, leadership excellence, and Christian maturity among all who are connected to it. It provides oversight not as a burden, but as a means of strengthening, encouraging, and developing individuals and ministries to fulfill their God-given purpose.

The Providence of St. Polycarp stands as a light in a dark and ever-changing world, committed to upholding biblical truth, fostering unity within the Body of Christ, and raising up leaders who are equipped, disciplined, and faithful.
